I’m the General Manager for Transco International, a freight forwarding company based in Australia offering various shipping services from personal effects and commercial cargo, customs brokerage and warehousing services to name a few. As a GM for a shipping company, I am responsible for devising marketing strategies and their execution, liaising with corporate clientele and growing our customer base to bring Transco International, and its brand Transco Cargo further ahead in the national and international shipping industry.
Recently, I was honoured with the award for Young Businessmen of the Year 2014 at Sri Lanka Awards 2014, for my business development efforts. With my background in Finance Management, and experience in sales, I have been able to bridge the two different streams of business to effectively work for Transco Cargo. During this time, I was also part of the team that set in motion various processes to develop the businesses as mentioned under Transco Cargo-Projects.
Having started out with a Financial Management background and later progressing in Marketing & Sales, I have been able to garner knowledge and experience from both, and mesh it together to assist in the various tasks that I have been commended for.
